Having recently been to Japan, my impressions of their readiness mirror what was in this article. Thanks for posting.

As in the U.S., small and medium-sized Japanese businesses are significantly behind larger corporations. The Bank of Japan is now very focused on the problem. One advantage that Japan has, is a relatively centralized governmental structure--not so many pesky state and local government to mess things up.

I'd also agree with the article's assessment that Indonesia may have significant problems--though multinational corporations there generally are as well prepared as anyplace else, locally owned companies may experience real dislocations.
