FCSE 1 5/8 + SONY for Video Conf

SONY to Integrate the FS400 Digital Video Co-Processor into the SONY
Contact Videoconferencing System

WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1999--FOCUS Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ:FCSE - news) announced today that SONY Electronics,
Inc. has begun integrating the FOCUScan(TM) FS400 digital video co-processor into its Contact line of video conferencing products. The FOCUS proprietary
NTSC/PAL digital video chip is being used by SONY to provide a high resolution computer interface to its multi-function Contact Videoconferencing System. The
FS400 is being built into the Contact system's document stand, allowing users to input computer applications, such as PowerPoint presentations, and view them on
the SONY Contact videoconferencing screen at resolutions as high as 1600x1200.

''Based on comparison testing, SONY made the decision to convert from a competitive solution to the FS400 after seeing the extremely high picture quality of our
chip,'' said Bill Schillhammer, Vice President of OEM Sales at FOCUS. ''SONY has changed its existing product designs in order to facilitate the integration of the
chip into the Wireless Object Station Document Stand of the Contact system. Selection of the FS400 for use by a video manufacturing giant like SONY is very
significant for FOCUS, and further marks the broad acceptance of this chip in the industry,'' Schillhammer continued.
