"I think they go farther with the morbid details than most people want to know, and are ruthless when it comes to interviewing families of lost loved ones whether they're celebrites or not."

I don't think they go farther with the morbid details than most people want to know.

Human nature has an insatiable desire for morbid details. Why else has human sacrifice been a popular spectator sport throughout history? When the homeless and jobless of Rome needed to be entertained, what activity was most popular and successful?

What is different now is the degree to which "we" can intrude on the lives of celebrities. Also different is the fact that an entire multi-billion dollar industry has developed around exploiting this aspect of human nature.

I can foresee a backlash reaction at some point in the near future. Add this to my Multi-Million Dollar Idea Notebook: Technology Free Zones and Technology Free Vacations.

Anyone familiar with the Dune series?
