Finder: Cramer wrote a piece about how the LU conference call was fumbled on TheStreet.com. thestreet.com for those with subscriptions

FWIW, am I the only one buying more this AM south of $70?

Finder, if that is the case, MSFT fumbles every quarter only to beat the estimates. Not a bad company.

I thought the conference call was to summarize the quarterly results and to discuss the business going forward. It is this time that the investment community looks for guidance going forward. Lucent claimed that 2000Q1 would not meet consensus (the reason may be BS) but the that the year looked good. This is what the investment community tuned in for and it responded. This is how you get and hold the respect. Sugar coating, misleading statements used to keep the stock up in light of these projections leads to distrust. I don't think the call was blown at all.

The point is both moot and irrelevant. "blowing the conference call" results in short term fluctuations and have no effect on long term performance.

Earnings and interest rates are the only two factors that really matter.
