Stephen-

I find your comments persuasive. I would not see them constraining the right of be people of Taiwan to choose to be independent of Beijing's maw.

Thanks,

Larry

G'day all - hi Steve, you sez "... If this is true, guess I'm showing my age"

You and me both <VBG>! But it is possible, you know what the scientists said, long term memory is the last to go <VVBG>

Seriously, I really wish people don't mix Taiwan and Tibet together. In a way, both are near and dear to me, but they are not of the same impetus. Unfortunately, China may very well be able to overwhelm 6MM Tibetans with 7MM ethnic Chinese. A minor point is that the latter group may not be all Hans. Incidentally, FWIW, HH the 14th Dalai Lama, still the best bet for the Tibet issue, has abandoned the call for independence back in 1987

best, Bosco
