Steve, I don't disagree with you. As with many other .com issues this one is based on perceived long-term potential. I would not attempt to defend an investment strategy based on this alone although there are clearly many people (less risk averse than myself) having considerable successes with this strategy. On the more pragmatic side - I for one believe that there is a huge potential for Internet music downloads although I don't believe this market will develop until the bandwidth constraint is solved. Even if I wanted to download music today, I don't have the patience to do this at standard modem speeds and my guess is that the generation Xers (likely target market) are faced with the same problem. Oh! And then there is that copyright thing!
