Jim and Thread, SmartMedia (32 MB variety) is now #122 on the top 1000 list at CNET undoubtedly due to Rio PMP sales and the success of two digital cameras, the Olympus C2000 & Fuji MX2700. shopper.com I know it is unrealistic to hope to win all design-ins, but I just think about where we might be today if CF had beat out SmartMedia in these devices. I am glad we are going to have our own SmartMedia offerings at retail to try and get some table scraps. I still believe it is just a matter of time before SmartMedia begins to fade. I think they are nearing the limits of capacity given that the form factor is too thin to stack chipsets. The importance of the retail exclusivity agreements cannot be downplayed in this regard.
