John:" ADR & WEBS charts "

MG>the overseas bourse's charts are often easier to work with from a technical standpoint, than the WEBS' charts....

JH>You're not kidding, Steve, the WEBS charts are loaded with wacky and contradictory shooting stars all over the place. The daily candles charts look more like 5min. charts for other stocks...

yeah man, ADR charts can be frustrating for candlestick readers (^_^)

one thing you can do is convert your charts over to "line" format of closing prices (no gaps from currency adjustments that way) and use this format to draw all your TrendLines and fit your fibonacci and other horizontal support levels; then flip back to "candlestick" and your magic lines will be correct.

another thing you can do is flip them over to weekly time scale - you can read their candlestick sentiments that way.

>One of the "whispers" from Semicon West show was that Korea is heating up big time. Will follow and explore FAK and KF since WEBS don't apply...

yeah, Korea has been hot ! They got "real" gains in productivity behind their performance.

But the hottest market YTD has been TRF - Russia, John; it doubled, da !

rumour is that the "smart money" global players are taking some profits off the table in Asia & LatAm and rolling it over to the EU, fwiw.

IMHO the "smartest money" right now is sipping limonada con anejo, lying on a warm beach between a blonde and a redhead (^_^)

...what a lousy market, no matter how/where you look at it :-/

JH:" candlesticks by-the-book "

I missed a textbook candlestick cum T/A play, John...

HWP - Hewlett-Packard

first, a beautiful doji evening star; OK, you got my attention; confirmed Tuesday. Then ya sum together TUE+WED candlesticks and ya get a hanging man...

...chart says I'm supposed to "short on CLOSE" WED session at this point. Looking at the VIX.X, it be low, so buyin' PUTs makes more sense than sellin' CALLs. Well, I prolly coulda got HWPTB - HWP AUG 110 PUTs for around 4-5/8 around the CLOSE, dunno.

And sold 'em for 6-5/8x7 today, say +50% net.

oh, that was a pretty pattern, BigJohn (^_^)
