OK, I've got a story to tell everyone. It is something that is going on right now. No omen, just kinda exciting. I am hearing a lot of noise outside. I live on the beach, and on every clear day I can see Catalina Island. A beautiful island 26 miles across the channel. You may remember the Beach Boys (I think) song. Anyway, Catalina has a major brush fire on the back side. They are sending all available firefighters over to help fight the fire. Now on this small island equipment is not in abundance, so.........the noise. Camp Penelton Marine Base, south of Oceanside, has sent up a 'hovercraft,' and right here on the beach they are loading up fire trucks and fire fighting equipment and flying them over to Catalina. Something you don't see everyday. ~Sarkie
