i am getting something out of it. i'm not sure i've heard enough to evaluate the overall experience.

i recently told someone that i thought that zen thinking had merits, but was not the answer to all things. pure zen thinking is off the deep end, imo. for example, zen disavows dreams of what life should be. there is some merit to that position as perhaps we only screw life up by imposing our scripts onto it. however, on the other hand, if we can't have experiences that we want to look forward to...well that seems pretty empty to me...
