I have said it more than once, but the harsh reality is that sanity will not be brought back into the market until a significant number of people -- especially the soccer moms, tow truck drivers, bartenders, etc. portrayed in the online brokerage commercials -- lose a *buttload* of money. Some people need to be bankrupt before sanity will return to the market. There is too little fear and too much greed right now. That condition cannot last for long.

There are too many people who believe the market can only go up, and thus the dependable buying on dips. There are too many people who believe the S&P is going to increase 30% a year forever and the QQQ is going to increase 40% a year forever. They forget that the S&P has average about 10% a year this century.
