OT:

With regards to monthly fees for DSL service, I received a postcard from Covad offering DSL service. Utilizing Westnet for 192K service, they provided a price quote of $199 per month with $1000 installation fee which includes the cost of the modem using an ethernet adapter. With AOL offering DSL service for an additional $20 more per month, it seems like a bargain.

However, I am currently paying $29.95 per month for optimum online cable modem service. There was no installation fee and the cable modem was included with the monthly fee as a rental. Any upgrades or replacements of the modem will be done for free.

Does anyone have any impression as to what AOL will do after earnings announcement. It seems as if many companies after announcing earnings (even when spectacular and meeting whisper numbers) have tanked).

Good luck to us all.

David
