it is very hard to discuss something with someone who claims, as you do, to have expertise in so many different fields.

Not expertise. But experience. I have done many things in my life, have followed a variety of careers at various times and for various lengths of time. (Some, but not all, of my jobs have included cabinet maker, teacher (English, mathematics, philosophy, music, religion), professional musician, accountant (but not CPA), writer, journalist, TV commentator, public policy researcher and analyst, consultant, long range planner, investor, pollster, small business owner, school business manager, corporate VP finance, lawyer, and what next who knows.

I'm not sure I would term myself expert in much of anything (except perhaps in English folk and Morris dancing, and umpiring softball), but I do have a wide range of experiences to draw on.

jbe, res- I spent years working full-time as a journalist, and I feel I DO have a better handle on the profession than you do.

Joan, Here is an example of gross liberal media bias, no matter how you define it.
