Tucker, re ASP.

And how say ye does the ol' box in the corner handle the new wireless gadgets being introduced that only run on Win98 Of2000 or imac's version of the same? The apple wireless gadget AirPort was introduced today for their NEW machines. Nothing available for the old. Total package is $400 to start with $99 per box added hookup:

apple.com

Lucent's version for Windows based systems are about the same price for LMDS/xDSL hookup. Only runs with the newer advanced boxes SDRAM capable, etc. To stay competitive - or increase productivity, the box needs to be able to go where the input agent (person) goes. The new wireless world is changing all the upgrade requirements and ASP philosophy.

GV,

I think we agree on this issue, but I am far from technologically adept, so I don't understand all of the hardware ramifications. I am sufficiently impressed with the potential to have bought CTXS yesterday.

Re. using old computers as network terminals. I would not be happy to notice the delay as my screen repainted on 486 level machine, or even Pentium-class machines with limited main and graphics memory. Faster, more capable, "terminals" are always more desirable. JMHO, Scott
