What the heck do you mean "everyone in Texas owns guns"? You haven't been in this state enough to know doodely squat about it. The cowboy and indian mentallity has long since gone by the wayside, even though we still remember those days. There are very few guns owned by upright citizens and they are all hunting rifles, hunting shotguns, and small caliber target pistols. Many of the collectors have a lot of guns but they are chains and locked in a cabinet and are for viewing only. The only automatic weapons are owned by the lawless elements which, as in every state, they seem to multiply faster than law enforcement can find and arrest them. As usual, you spew out non-sensical statements thinking you will automatically be believed. If you want to use that tactic, you should reserve it for the cocktail party circuit.

Michelle,

The only kind of gun control I'd like to see is if
Hollywood and the TV studios gave up their guns and
didn't use a gun in a production for one year. I
wonder what would happen then? Could you imagine
being able to watch TV without someone getting their
head blown off every ten minutes? The fact of the
matter is that our media has used violence to sell
its products and Americans are now saturated with
images of death and destruction. We don't even bat
an eye now when we fire cruise missiles into some
nation that didn't even threaten us. I loved the way
Bill Clinton said "We need to teach children that violence
is not a solution to our problems" the same day we
flew hundreds of bombing missions over Yugoslavia killing
dozens of people. Americans are violent people. This
Nation was born of violence and now contributes much
to the death and destruction we see every night on the
six o'clock news. We are the problem. Not guns. You
and Handgun control inc. are trying to treat the symptom,
not the problem. Gun control will fail as long as the
liberals in our society continue to blame inanimate objects
for violence.
