"Christmas season" is old-school with regards to product development now. Many companies release products entirely out-of-cycle with the old idea of the Christmas selling season. Cellphone sales continue throughout the year, new models come out all the time. No big deal. And high-end laptops, the targets for the Valence cells, are bought by corporations, not as Christmas presents. Corporate buying doesn't follow that cycle either.

I would also note that during the call, Lev said more of their potential customers were gearing towards putting the Valence cells in the products they were currently designing. And going back to the comments made at the shareholders meeting, Lev spoke at length about having been in design programs already. What we await is the confluence of Valence's volume production capacity, OEMs being comfortable with the product test results, OEMs having a new product finishing its design cycle which has available Valence cells sized to match.

Perhaps someone in the biz would like to add their two cents, but as an observer of the marketplace, I don't see the product design cycles being restricted to the one-year regime anymore. The market and technology moves too fast to push things off a full year.

So as I see it, there is no issue that if they miss some imaginary design cycle soon, they have to wait a year. Not at all.

Jim, Christmas is still the heaviest selling season for PC and laptops. If VLNC were to be qualified in a product line, it must be done before the end of this month, otherwise it will be extremely difficult to meet Christmas season shipping dates that start in about 45 days or so.
