With Lucent, IBM, Qualcomm, and Microsoft all hitting home runs, America Online (AOL) joined the party by hitting one of its own. AOL announced fourth quarter earnings at $0.13 a share, 2 cents above estimates. Revenue was $1.4 billion, up 46% from the previous year.

ICQ - 38 million
AOL Instant Messenger - 25 million
NetCenter - 17 million
WinAmp MP3 - 10 million

As the broadband strategy focusing on DSL takes shape, America Online and its burgeoning online properties are in a excellent position going into the year 2000.
