Too bad, I have to tell you that most of illegal software and DVD sold in China are indeed produced in Hong Kong and Taiwan. That means, the profit is earned by those companie, not the companies on the mainland.

Furthermore, those illegal software can only be sold discreetly on Chinese market, that means they are only in exchange of Chinese currency, not hard currency. My question still is, taking the doll story for example, where China get that $1.65 hard currency to buy US goods since China only made 35 cents of hard currency on each doll?
