First let me say that I hope there is an opportunity to buy more shares under 160 tomorrow. Second, please post on SI:

SI board: First, thanks for all your informative posts. Been a reader for over a year. Second, expect a bigger jump forward as a result of today's offering. I don't post much anywhere, but felt an urge to contribute this one post to the current debate. So....

Please stop worrying and get back to your usual logic and solid analysis. There are many reasons why Q did what it did with regard to the offering. Their only mistake was announcing earnings on the 4th largest point down day in NASDAQ history - can't really blame them. They expected the price to shoot to around 175, but more importantly they wanted the biggest and best to buy a lot of their stock at + 150.

Now think about it. Yes, they could have allowed the stock to climb on its own and it would have because over the course of the next three months, many houses will have to buy this stock. BUT, what they have provided instead is a clear cut incentive for ALL houses to buy a very large portion of QCOM at a good price and DRIVE the price upward.
In the long run (maybe not too long), this will provide stockholders more value. There are many advantages to this strategy. Downside stability and group diversity to name a few. Like in their technology, QCOM is positioning to have global acceptance of their (your) company. If you can't see how the pros far outweigh the cons, then you may want go back to Business 101. Makes perfect sense.

One last question..... When has QCOM management ever done anything that was negative to the stockholders? Trust! Perhaps they see a picture that you do not. No one can dictate the market day to day, but in December you will all be singing praises. Maybe by next week. I believe the story will continue to unfold.

Thanks for allowing my contribution.
