Limtex and Thread,

Some preliminary benchwork hints to increased power consumption for
the microdrive. In general I thought this review was extremely pro-IBM. Once again, SanDisk is left out of the picture.

the link is: cewindows.net

POWER CONSUMPTION DATA

Device First Low Power Warning Automatic Power Down Total Time

No Card 1 h 51 min 42 min 2 hr 33 min
Lexar 64 MB 1 h 40 min 38 min 2 hr 29 min
IBM MicroDrive 340 43 min 37 min* 1 hr 20 min

* The MicroDrive has a power threshold that is higher than the
Automatic Power Down threshold within the Casio E-10X. Before the
Casio automatically turns off due to insufficient battery power, the
MicroDrive shuts itself off. Any resources contained on the media
instantly become unavailable.
