CPQ TA Analysis.

CPQ had a very good day today considering DELL and Gateway performance. DELL did not gain much today while Gateway retraced good and CPQ made good gain. I am talking percentage wise. The point is CPQ is displaying strength at its current price.

CPQ made an advance from a low of 20 on 06/17/99 to 28.19 on 07/15/99. When you think about it this is almost 50% gain in one month!! Now it is retracing on low volume and this is not unusual. As I indicated before that if CPQ closes below 27 it will probably consolidate between 24.50 and 27 and then try to break trough 27 again. The only problem I see right now is that NASDAQ may have started a correction.
It is not confirmed yet but we have to wait and see. If NASDAQ has started a correction then that would hinder CPQ advance but I don't expect it to retrace too much. Investors seem to favor CPQ at these prices. They are looking favorably on CPQ while it is searching for a new CEO. If the wrong decision is made in that area then that could impact CPQ in that it may consolidate for a longer period until the new CEO proves valuable to CPQ and then it may take off for a good advance. My two cents.

Good trading,

Christopher

JR, --- If past and present mgmt was so damn good the price of this stock would not have reason to be in the toilet. If mgmt were a little better the price would not have remained here -- the level of so long ago. Cash could have been put in a passbook for a long time and used to buy CPQ today AND be money on the plus side--- not bad in the strongest bull mkt in history right? Talk about knowlegable people on this thread... . LOL! The AV deal is done. It will no longer have any impact on price except to limit new highs. A real problem that all do not agree with everyone else here LOL,,, but certain ones KNOW mgmt is right in having the price in the crapper LOL.... Where the price is on Feb 1 will have little to do with the current crew except to prove they picked the right (or wrong) CEO,,, no matter if it is number 2, 3, or 4. CPQ is so great #1 choice of CEO (or more) turned the job down... LOL,,, I enjoy agitating.. <gggggggggg>
