I don't think this is a fault of the consumer though. The "news" media, like modern pols spend too much time reading the polls and figuring out what will sell.

The news media are businesses, accountable to shareholders. They do their market research, like any other business, and adjust their product to meet demand. What else would you expect them to do?

The mainstream reader wants celebrities and opinions, preferably opinions they don't have to think to hard about. There are outlets on the fringe which cater to fringe audiences, like the ones who want real news. If you want it, you can get it, but don't expect to get it from mainstream outlets.

I challenge you to find a pervasive conservative bias beyond the opinion pages and general subject matter.

???

Don't follow you.

And why challenge? It would be helpful if you had not jumped into the middle of this discussion, but had followed it from the beginning, which was when I challenged Christopher on what you call a "because-everybody-knows-it's-true argument."

(Sorry, Christopher; only quoting.)
