All,

Just finished listening to CC. This company is changing with almost every new call. You hardly hear SCM discussed anymore. The new focus in e-business with the fulfillment engine running behind the scenes. My comments will likely be disjointed, so please bear with me:

-The discussion of the trading communities is very interesting, and is an attempt to be the marketplace facilitator behind web commerce. The lock in here could be strong if these communities become popular with vendors. Sanjiv was very high on the prospects here. This is the eBay model where the marketplace itself - bringing together many suppliers and customers - creates the enhanced value.

-Automotive and Industrial was very strong this quarter. I'd been waiting to hear that. Hope that the trend continues.

-Sanjiv was adamant that ITWO's e-business solutions have opened quite a few eyes. Says the solution was recieved better than expected at recent e-Business show and tell.

- Somewhat surprised at lack of growth in sales people. They were aggressively expanding last quarter. It almost looks like the shift to e-business caught them a little, and they require a different type salesperson to manage the broad base of products now. They say they plan to expand by 50 salespeople by end of year.

-SMART acquisition should open up opportunities in Finance and Insurance. I'll be listening for more info here.

- The quarter was not stacked with big deals. No deal over $10 million.

- One analyst asked about Steve Ballmer of MSFT speaking at Planet. I was curious about this also, but couldn't seem to gain any clarity. I don't think this is a big deal, but I still wonder why he's a keynote speaker if nothing important is expected.

- In general concern over SAP competitive threat seems further diminished. i2 reamins a moving target. Moving into e-business takes it farther into virgin territory where primary competition is in-house, or customized solutions.

Again, company has changed so much over the past year or two. I wonder what businesses we'll be into this time next year.
