Bill,

<Why is it that people keep warning me not to look in the "rear-view mirror"...yet the stocks that I short still seem to go down with alarming frequency?>

Why is it that you keep ignoring facts and well explained opinions in lieu of unsubstantiated negative buzz words? Your past track record, even if it is good, is irrelevant when discussing the future of any stock, including GUMM. People aren't always right and those who claim to always be right are most likely lying. Anybody who blindly follows a self-proclaimed guru deserves what they will most likely get: a big fat loss.

To Mad2,

I have posted plenty of financial analysis and projections on this thread and have no desire to reiterate it. The estimates that I posted on Yahoo for Q4 98 and Q1 99 were within a penny of the actual results so I think that I have a good handle on GumTech's expected revenues and expenses. While you might truly believe that GumTech's odds of success are 5%, you pulled this number out of a hat and it's not germane to the discussion. If GumTech succeeds, then you will just say that they beat the odds. If they succeed, I will say that they did what I thought they were going to do. Either way, if they succeed, I will make money on this investment and it won't matter who is right about their odds of success. I think it is better to look at odds of success with risk to reward, and I think this is in the longs favor by a ratio of more than 10:1.

Best of luck to all,

Dan

Here, for example, is a VLNC

What does VLNC have to do with GUMM? Nothing!
