dmf - Re: ";) Can you tell me anything about Intel's answer to Apple's AirPort on the new iBook? "

I'm not too clear on what that AirPort is - but it sounds like a wireless "network" or wireless modem.

Intel is instrumental in the BlueTooth initiative - which is a wireless LAN implementation.

more eye-balls but more red-ink. Business as usual, no?

After close of Wednesday's trade, Amazon.com (AMZN: news, msgs) reported a second-quarter pro forma loss of 51 cents a share, mirroring the First Call survey of analysts. Customer accounts grew by 2.3 million to 10.7 million. Also, the electronic retailer hatched plans for a 2-for-1 stock split. In afterhours Instinet trade, the stock changed hands at 122 from a regular-session close of 125 7/16.
