A S --- GREAT THOUGHT. I do not think they would go for the PALM though. They have a great relationship with Gates. He is trying to get a product to compete with the 3COM OS but CE is NOT cutting it. The only reason CE still survives is the "Windows" name association. LOL -- they may have to come up with that much "front money" to get anyone to take the CEO job. One thing is certain they must diversify from boxes more and more. They are a great core but need a strong wall around as the become more of a commodity. I own COMS so I wish you were correct. There has to be many things that would help. They may be waiting to add a truck parts division... LOL! That decision will have to be influenced by the new CEO... Remember they are losing billions too until a profit (what that?) is being made! As DELL and others take mkt share their credability suffers and that may be needed to go after new business AND what they have lost... I tried like hell to buy a CPQ but DELL just would not give me a chance so I am still waiting for them to get competitive,,, they have a lot of work to do. Inut sales? Servers? Sm business? Service? ISP? Portal-- NO! BOXES? T-shirts? They have to do something fast. If a CEO is named next week then Hellman will make those decisions.
