Eric,

Bezos was talking about all children's products, i.e. including books and music. The statement is probably true, certainly meaningless. (At least in the sense that it was likely equally true before the toy store went live.)

I'm curious... what kind of hard data would you expect here. Amazon doesn't know the business e-toys is doing other than heresay... which is usually pretty accurate but not really acceptable for a cc... they could disclose their actual numbers of items sold but that isn't wise either since that gives the competition an edge...

I don't quite know how retailers handle this... comments? We never had this problem in technology (disclosing sales/accounts) because when we had them we had them. But we never leaked prospects for fear the competition would get wind of it.
