But, any who would have you believe man can control global climate, doesn't have your interests at heart. There are other motives and agendas at work.

There are "other motives and agendas" at work on both sides of this fence.

I am not so sure that human decisions cannot have a major influence on global climate. Remember when the oceans were trumpeted as an inexhaustible supply of food? How many decades has it taken to push that "inxhaustible supply" into the critical range?

I'm willing to listen to scientifically supported opinion on either side, but I am not willing to assume that the possibility that we are doing long-term damage to ourselves should be dismissed out of hand because it would be economically inconvenient to change the way we do things now. I also suspect that the degree of economic inconvenience is being substantially overstated. Every environmental effort of the past was met with predictions of economic collapse; none have come to pass. We have much cleaner air and water today than we had 30 years ago, and the economy has not suffered to any discernable degree. All we did was create an incentive for entrepreneurs to go out and develop cleaner - but still profitable - ways of doing business.
