Maybe you are right, I admitted that some of it was the "revenge of the namesakes" factor. I think Dole has a decent c.v., and there is nothing wrong with a little sex appeal on the ticket (she is not vulgar, after all), and I doubt that there is a "Dole Curse", but there are many good potential running mates, some of them arguably better. An interesting sidelight: Shortly after her reply to the State of the Union address, I pumped gas at the same station as Jennifer Dunn, on the way out of Annapolis. She is a quite beautiful, even when not "done up" for the cameras....
