An upgrade to the leading Internet email software, Eudora Pro 4.2 offers several new features and functions, including automatic spell check, enhanced search capabilities, graphics and web page viewing, and an option that will read messages aloud. Customers of Eudora Pro 4.0 or 4.1 can download the free upgrade from QUALCOMM's web site at <http://www.qualcomm.com. Features new to both the Windows and Macintosh versions of Eudora Pro4.2 that will save users time and make Eudora easier to use include: Automatic Spell Check - automatic double-underlines misspelled words as the user types outgoing messages; Speak Filter Action - speaks the name and subject of an incoming message; Auto-wrapping Plain Text Messages - adjusts received plain-text messages to the computer's display width automatically; Improved Search/Find - allows searching for text in messages located in one or all mailboxes and folders. Up to five levels of search criteria can be entered and a powerful Regular Expressions function allows complex character-stringsearches.

Features new to the Windows version of Eudora Pro 4.2 include: Automatic Name Completion - automatically completes a name that is typed into the To:, Cc: or Bcc: fields using information stored in the history list; Reply with Selected Text - allows any portion of the text of a received message to be highlighted and placed in the body of the reply message; Personality Selection - allows the selection of an account from the header of an out-going message; offline use of Internet Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP) - permits many email operations to be performed offline when IMAP is used as the incoming email server. Features new to the Macintosh version of Eudora Pro 4.2 include: Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) - allows Eudora to access and manage email messages on a server and permits manipulation of remote mailboxes as if they were local; Automatic Email Delivery in Background - Eudora now retrieves email, filters it and delivers it to specified mailboxes automatically inthe background; Speak Option - allows Eudora to read entire email messages aloud; and Animated Graphics Interface Format (GIF) Images - animated GIFimages embedded in HTML messages are displayed.

All: Speaking of clogging up the thread, I feel the need to point out one of my pet peeves (this is not directed at you, Jon). What's up with all of the one-sentence or even one-word posts that are in response to another post. It's a chore just to figure out what they're referring to.

Until recently, almost everyone copied a portion of the post they were responding to, so that the reader wouldn't have to go search for it and download another message. With as many people as we now have posting on and following this thread (probably several hundred), why not show a bit of common courtesy and save a few hundred people some time by indicating what you're responding to in your message?
