I am quite sure that with all of the MM's on a screen even experienced traders can get confused.

Just so no one gets the impression that an individual cannot get an in between b/A execution that too is not necessarily so. If broker a gets a buy order in between the sell and subsequently gets a sell order at the same price they can cross the orders or a MM may choose to change his inventory position. I know that more than once I have had limit orders filled in between the B & A.
