i agree that quite a few of the 'new era' dogmas are figments. we simply have a typical bubble economy with all the attendant hallmarks thereof. i often hear that today cannot be compared to the '20's, but that is erroneous as well. on the contrary, the 20's are the only comparable 'era' i can think of. it had the same combination of credit and stock market bubbles, productivity growth and low inflation that we see now. and i have no doubt that this 'new era' will end in a way not dissimilar to the last one. of course no-one knows when the end will come, but future generations are guaranteed to look back at the '90's in wonderment.
