SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 1999--Solutions Media Inc. (SMI), equity holders of SpinRecords.com and an Internet and convergence technology firm, Thursday announced that they have signed power pop band Belly Puddle to their SpinRecords.com label.

They will be distributing Belly Puddle's music both physically as well as digitally over the Internet.

Belly Puddle, claimed by MP3 .com's founder Michael Robertson to be his favorite band, made the move on the day MP3 .com made their IPO. The deal between Belly Puddle and SpinRecords.com demonstrates how artists are making critical decisions about the success of their music in the super-heated digital music industry.

In a week that has rocked the music world and given a huge boost to digital, downloadable music, SpinRecords.com's artist-friendly model is finding resonance with emerging acts.

"To have a band like Belly Puddle come on board with us at a time like this is incredible validation for SpinRecords.com," stated Wayne Irving, president and chief executive officer of Solutions Media.

"We came to SpinRecords.com because it's more one-on-one," said Belly Puddle founder Lauren Scheff. "Instead of being lost in a sea of mediocre music, we will have the opportunity to really develop and stand out."

SpinRecords.com is establishing itself as the number one resource for new and maturing artists and their fans. The site will be dedicated to the independent and underground music scene and has plans to provide all types of services as a farm-label to the unsigned, undiscovered artists and bands.

Users will be able to download music in MP3 and other audio formats to their local PCs and digital music players.
