"From a trust stand point it makes sense. Do you send someone in to
talks that everyone is afraid of (T)? Perhaps having ATHM doing the
negotiating in the interest of ALL the partners makes more sense than
having them all go in there and make their own deals in front of
ATHM.."

Grace, on the surface I almost agreed with you. But think about what you
stated. Who would be more hostile, would have more to lose, potentially,
and more loathed to discuss these issues than ATHM, in this event, who
can be seen in this scenario as trying to protect their lunch? Anyway,
stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Regarding LBJ and pissing in the wrong direction, permit me to
paraphrase what Dean Rusk once told LBJ in [ ]'s.

Dean Rusk said, when asked by Johnson why he was not terribly
popular with the American public:

"Let's face it, Mr. President, there is something about you, about the way
you come across on [cable] television [issues], in particular, that just plain
seems to piss a lot of people off."

Yes, there is a contextual double entendre buried in there, somewhere.
