If I were a large holder of a stock or commodity and I announced gleefully to the world well ahead of time (ala BOE) that I was going to sell the HEL out of it, how smart would I be?* If I owned a car with replacement insurance, and went out driving and broke the transmission, would I NOT care if someone stole the car? Then the insurance would replace the car, which would be better then the one that was stolen. My hope is that it makes it to the chop shop in a quick way. So maybe they had Futures, and Future options and needed to rid themselves of the GOLD onto the market in the most disruptive way possible, thus making the most for the ounce? Did not the POG rise just before the sale? A straight line is not the shortest distance between two points when time is taken into account. Hutch
