It's not. I also heard when Win98 came out, claims saying it will be slow at first, but then speed up as Windows learns what programs you use the most.

I also remember hearing that Windows may appear to run slower, but it is actually a more stable feeling, something to that effect.

Simple fact is the Win95 shell is faster than Win98, Period.

I bought Win98 the day it was release. Same as Win95.
