Experts say oil and gas exploration set for rebound

NEW YORK (July 22, 1999 1:17 p.m. EDT nandotimes.com) - With crude oil prices making a solid recovery from this winter's historical lows, industry experts say the petroleum industry's mainstay -- exploration and production -- appears set for a rebound.

"We're seeing a near-term increase in seismic work, to discover potential drilling sites around the world," said Jay Gallagher, analyst for IHS Energy Group, a leading international consultancy. "And by the year 2000, if oil prices hold, we could see the next logical step: a boom in drilling."

BAMM ! ...HSE sold !

HSE - the thinking man's/number crunching-bean countin leveraged nat gas sleeper.... $12 9/16ths down from $16 ?!?!?!? and one of, if not the most price appreciation leveraged nat gas play ?

CRK - C'Mon just another tic, or two.... I may just own 2 stocks here - maybe 3 if MEXP creeps back on down a bit...

HSE could easily see $20 (+60%) by XMAS - see SSB's excellent analysis on HSE... and their comments on HSE's stock appreciation potential & earnings leverage to nat gas prices - this & CRK are the ''2'' best plays on nat gas imho.... RRC looking good near $5 as well - it will see $7 again with no problem - that being an easy 40%ish pop...

Not seeing anything else trippin the trigger yet.... would love sub $30 CAM however... not to far to go ... $7ish FLC ? RIG at $23 again ? whodathunkit ?

George Cole.... OSX 66-68 not looking too unrealistic here ???.... these 2-3% selloff days often get followed by a rush to the exits day (profit taking protection) where tomorrow we could see a down -5% to -7% heavy volume profit taking (selling day). I am not predicting that we will see a 5-7% down day ''tomorrow'', just that in the major retracements of the near past; this waffling softness that slowly creeps down to key support levels is often broken through with a rush to take/protect profits... leading to a big 5% + selloff. I would not be surprised to see such a day - anyday here... just my .02 cents
