The most common usage on SI is something like "I tried to dialogue with him, but he just kept insulting me", or "It's so hard to dialogue with you", or equivalents thereof. Technically correct it may be, but let's evaluate on the grounds of style.

I can't see anybody who strives for a clear and effective prose style issuing any such effete and limp-wristed nonsense.
