John,...*OT* Don't you think this fetish with spending the so-called surplus is just political games in Washington? Clinton and the Democrats are drooling over some spending programs as well. I think it's all election year posturing and mainly stupid. Remember, 6 months ago we weren't any too sure that the supposed surplus was anything that was going to really materialize? <g> We talked about it in terms of MAYBE helping to lower long term rates, etc. but we acknowledged then that the whole idea was fragile.LOL!
