Is their view the US or is it international in scope for handset demand? I could not tell from reading it. If it is national, then perhaps, but if it is internaitonal, I feel that the handset market will stay on the demand side for a long time.

Also, as the feature set approaches that of the GSM handsets in terms of size, battery, network, etc...the replacement rate will go up sharply.

Ramsey Su,
H&Q analysis,
Hand set part shortages- Analyst assumes worst possible based on comparison of Mot and Qcom conference call.
Royalty analysis- seemed very strained based on limited information and ignored the fact that Qcom estimates royalties.
Hand set oversupply- interesting relationship to asic sales. Analysis not much more informed than an SI members estimates in my opinion. However, this is the most interesting item in the report.
I can not see how analyst could have been more conservative in his estimates.

Knock, knock. New thread rules read and heartily endorsed. As with many of you, The Triumvirate forms the basis of my portfolio. I welcome this refreshing environment consisting of an informative thread with solid, down to earth people gathering to exchange pure information and supposition about the Q.

Enough of an intro from me. Great idea as we move into a new phase for the Q, Ramsey; and a major new phase it is. (No comments, please, about who let in the panhandler! <g>) ...Tim
