Fred,

I live in Southern California where we have over ten area codes, so my 815 (Illinois) is almost inconspicuous. <G> Actually, I have a national customer base and it makes little difference to any of my customers. Usually, I will volunteer that 815 is the correct area code, and that the fax is sent directly to my e-mail, from where I can forward any information necessary to the correct person at the company I represent. The response is usually something like, "Cool." I have considered getting one of their 800 numbers, but have had only one person ever ask me if I have a toll-free fax. It's also wonderful to be able to put my office telephone on call-forwarding to my home number and work here occasionally without having the worry of missing a fax.
