I am a little confused by the article in your post. It starts by saying that IBM is supplying the G4 AltiVec, not MOT, but later says "... Motorola said recently that it plans to ship the G4 PowerPC chip--a successor to the current G3--later this year. IBM has not said what its plans are for this chip line.". I had heard that IBM and MOT were possibly going separate ways over PowerPC, specifically because of disagreements over implementation of the AltiVec enhancements. Then I heard more recently that they've "worked things out" and that the bottom line is as the article indicates...if IBM thinks there is money to be made, they'll make the chips. I just wish IBM's intentions were completely unambiguous. Nintendo alone should be generating orders of an interesting magnitude.
