Gerard,

I would have to agree. On the auto side, I work for a trucking company that hauls an average of 350 trailer loads of parts a week out of mexico to the assembly plants in the upper mid-west. We are beginning to see a reduction in our weekly volume, and read a report last week that one assembly plant that has been working 3 8-hour shifts per day plus mandatory over-time every saturday for the last 2 years, is now cutting back to 3 7-hour shifts per day and no overtime on saturdays.

I am sure the workers may enjoy this cutback physically, but not sure if their pocketbooks can adjust ( gg )

Housing in the Indianapolis area is booming, especially in the cornfields that of course used to produce corn, but now are being leveled for houses and apartments. The one problem builders have here is finding enough skilled workers. Not sure about other areas of the country.
