1m1 and ajs: Thank you ***VERY*** much for pointing me to AT&T's One Rate Online. After reading your replies, I took a look at the site you pointed me to then called the 888 number with the few questions I had which were not answered by information provided there. End result: All my phone numbers are now on the One Rate Online plan, or will be within 24 hours (VISA approval takes 24-48 hours).

The woman I spoke with, Stephanie, was very helpful. She was dismayed when I told her about the conversation I had had earlier with someone at the regular customer service number when I told the c.s. person AT&T was going to lose a lot of customers to the new, online phone companies and the c.s. woman did not say a word about AT&T having an online program. Stephanie said that all employees are trained to know about all the program offerings, both traditional and online ones. She said there was no excuse for the woman not to mention the online service to me because information on this offerings comes across everyone's [computer] screen at least three times a day.

The rates you get, ajs, were available until June 22. Since then, the rates have gone up to .10, whether or not one has Worldnet. As long as you do not forget to notify T when the expiration date on your VISA card changes or you change your e-mail address, your rates will remain the same--as will mine at .10, even if rates go higher.

Stephanie said there is rarely a plan, traditional or Online, that is perfect for a person; people normally have to make a decision based on the weighing of compromises. Given the complexity of my calling patterns compounded by having telephones in different states [and being out of the country for blocks of time each year], she said it sure looks to her as if the One Rate Online program is perfect for me. I totally agree. As an added bonus, instead of paying $3.00/month then .12/minute for an international calling plan, I shall now only pay $1.00/month then .10/minute.

I'm happy. Thank you very much for your assistance. Without it, I would have shifted from T to one of its online competitors and paid .01 less per minute for domestic calls--but regretted, at the same time, that I had had to shift from T.

Regards,

Lynn
