I have done a little bit of shorting. For me it was not. I still prefer to go long in stocks. My shorts have been in really strong short candidates and I have mostly made money on them. I missed a lot of good shorts as etrade usually does not have shares to borrow. I think to really short well I would have to change brokers.

Max and I have been talking about how to play y2k using index futures or puts on the high flying internets.

In my IRA it took the first step today by putting a about 8% into the bear fund symbol bearx. I will put more and more into this and other short funds as the next months progress. I am also going to buy a couple of gold stocks.
