Most software makes you open a port to go through the firewall. Real Player, Pointcast, PC Anywhere, Stock Feeds, etc. It's a simple administrative chore that is expected. At least it has the capibility to go through the firewall. A lower end software like Mytrack broker software, for instance cant get through at all.

Sorry I have to disagree with you, but the purpose of a firewall is protection, and each hole poked in it is a security problem. Well designed software works with full-service proxies such as the SOCKS protocol, which do not require new holes in the firewall for each new application. RealPlayer supports both Socks, and their own proxy protocol. Liquid Audio Player does not support SOCKS. This is something that they ought to think about remedying. However, their technical support people have been helpful, even if they can't solve my problem.
