The biggest jokes have been the media coverage and the Government involvement in all this.

Glad somebody got the point.

Us ordinary insignificant people have disadvantages and advantages, compared to famous insignificant people. The nation doesn't wring their hands with horror if something happens to us, and the Government doesn't send out the Navy's hottest salvage ship to retrieve our remains.

On the other hand, nobody tells tasteless jokes about us.

Perverse, possibly, but I get the same impulse I did during the Diana farce. I feel like making as many tasteless jokes as possible, and laughing as hard as possible, as a counterweight to the public idiocy of it all.

When Sidney's conspiracy takes over the world, and we lose all of our rights, the first to go will be the right to laugh at celebrities....

Ish, you are a pal, but they are not "just jokes". Propriety does not go out the window just because something is called a joke. One can joke about delicate matters, but they had better be very carefully crafted...
