Filo, from an historic point of view there is nothing new in the Internet.

Just think about the steam engine and the railroad afterwards sudden people were able to travel move goods fast and cheaply (no carriages).

Electricity and electric power the radio and the telephone all major improvements with their own short lived MANIA. Are you now excited about railroad stocks or radio stocks as you are about anything related to the internet?? I do not think so.

Would you buy one of the Baby Bells companies and paying for them as you pay for AOL far from it.

Those are my 2 cents regarding manias and Internet related excitement.

As to 1987 and now the similarities abound, one clear indication is the speculation in stock option which are well beyond 1987. Commitment oh well until it will drop over 25% then the real panic will begin.
