C, from another point of view, besides the Japanese candlestick view is Wyckoff, who would suggest effort should bring a result, when you have high volume you should have a large move, high volume and a poor move suggests accumulation or distribution depending on where you are.

a doji is equal strength among buyers and sellers and depending where you are, a big volume doji can indicate a possible change in trend.
