Codawg, Believe it or not, i am sitting on a large cash position (50%)and still feel i am not defensive enough. This is in a retirement account.

In my margin account, i am basically short with puts on the Nasdaq100 trust units (QQQ)and short the Dow---have some MSft long but i have sold covered calls on these shares. I should not have closed out some of my shorts today. I am seriously thinking about going more short if we see a rally in the market in the morning---shorting QQQ or S and P 500.

I don't mean to offend those that are long MSFT and other stocks. I used to hate the guys who would post negative things on my favorite stocks. Could i become one of those? Hope not.
To me it is a matter of making the best short term decision. Longer term (1 year) I am still betting on record levels. I am realizing that it is better to make cold calculated decisions---no matter how much i love Microsoft. However, it is a hard adjustment to make.
